After an Emergency

Are you Ready?

A disaster can strike at any time, without warning. Learn how to make an emergency kit and plan, and protect yourself, your family, and your property.

Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) is a provincial program intended to help individuals, small businesses and communities recover from uninsurable losses caused by a disaster or emergency event, such as a flood, that results in extensive or widespread damage.

DFA is only made available when a qualifying event occurs and is approved by the Province. When activated, eligible applicants may receive financial support for essential recovery needs.

Eligible expenses may include building repairs, replacement of essential personal effects, equipment and inventory, clean up and debris removal.

For detailed information on eligibility criteria, the application process, eligible and ineligible expenses, and more, visit the Province’s Financial Assistance in a Disaster web page.
