Update (May 10, 1pm): Due to smoke from the Silverlynn Apartment fire, residents from the neighbouring Craftsman Estates have been asked to evacuate their homes and wait for the all-clear from the fire department before re-entering. In the interim, residents are asked to stay with family or friends or come to the Reception Centre at the Westlynn Baptist Church for a rest and refreshments. District of North Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services are on scene responding to a structure fire at Silverlynn Apartments (1335 27th Street).
A Reception Centre for displaced residents is located at Westlynn Baptist Church (1341 27th Street).
North Shore Emergency Management is providing Emergency Support Services to displaced residents. If you have been displaced and need information/support, please call North Shore Emergency Management at 778 338 6302.
